About the department
The Department of Surgery is in charge of the examination and treatment of patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. More than 6000 operations and 12500 endoscopic procedures are performed yearly. About 80% of admissions and treatments are related to acute, surgical illnesses. The others are planned surgeries and treatments, that the Department offers to patients from all over Region Zealand. High priority is given to development and training as well as research.
The Department of Surgery consists of 8 units:
