I’m lucky enough to be part of several exciting studies that investigate the safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant, local treatment modalities for patients with colorectal cancer. The aim of these treatments is to improve the patient’s own immunological response, which is why we analyze the local and systemic immunological changes in the laboratory as well.

My own master thesis investigates different circulating biomarkers of inflammation and lipid levels as chronic inflammation as well as altered metabolism is thought to contribute to the development and progression of several cancers.
