Our goal is to be a laboratory that plays a crucial role in the treatment of cancer patients, and in this regard, we have developed and implemented different analyses that, hopefully, in the long run, can have a significant impact on and improve cancer patients&#8217; treatment pathways.<\/p><p>In collaboration with all CSS employees, we conduct various projects, all aimed at enhancing patient treatment.<\/p><p>In our laboratory, we have the opportunity to collect tissue and blood samples directly from patients included in our research projects. There is close collaboration with both the clinic and the patient, ensuring a short pathway from blood samples and biopsies to analysis.<\/p><p>Blood is processed according to different protocols depending on the project, and we have our own biobank containing, among other things, whole blood, plasma, buffy coat, and serum. We perform tissue staining, including H&amp;E staining, allowing our pathologist to evaluate the tissue and determine the tumor\u2019s type, grade, and growth pattern.<\/p><p>The ability to conduct aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1332\"><p>We perform immunohistochemistry using fluorescence biomarkers, a technique that visualizes and identifies specific cells in tissue sections by using antibodies labeled with fluorophores. We apply this technique in singleplex, duplex, and multiplex formats, helping us gain insights into cell localization, morphology, interactions between cells\/proteins, and biological processes within the tissue.<\/p><p>This method provides us with a better understanding of an individual patient\u2019s tumor composition and aggressiveness while also helping us identify the best treatment options. We primarily examine a universal bacterial probe, as well as <strong>Bacteroides fragilis<\/strong> and <strong>Fusobacterium nucleatum<\/strong>. By utilizing fluorescence-labeled biomarkers, we generate an image of the tissue\u2019s structure and select <strong>Regions of Interest<\/strong> within the tissue for digital RNA or protein quantification using specific probes. We use this method as a tool to assess the patient\u2019s immune response to a given treatment.
