Rasmus Peuliche Vogelsang er uddannet fra Københavns Universitet i 2013. Efter at have afsluttet sin kliniske basisuddannelse i 2015 kom han til Center for Surgical Science under professor Ismail Gögenur på Sjællands Universitetshospital. Rasmus blev indskrevet som ph.d. studerende ved Københavns Universitet i 2017 med fokus på klinisk anvendelse af elektroporationsbaserede behandlinger til kolorektal cancer patienter. Rasmus er i øjeblikket involveret i tre igangværende kliniske forsøg med det formål at undersøge sikkerheden og gennemførligheden af endoskopiske elektroporationsbaserede behandlinger på tværs af forskellige kræftstadier. Formålet med hans ph.d. er at undersøge og karakterisere ændringer som følge af lokal kræftbehandling med elektroporation i tumor-mikromiljøet og derved potentielt at konvertere kolde til varme tumor-fænotyper. Udover hans involvering i klinisk forskning er Rasmus også involveret i etablering af en OMOP-baseret datamodel til forudsigelse af patienters risko efter kolorektal cancer operationer. Rasmus er ansvarlig for den daglige ledelse af den translationelle forskningsgruppe under Center for Surgical Science.
